Will of William Reed, dated 12 June 1746
In the Name of God Amen I William Reed of the Parish
of Stithyans
in the County of Cornwall being Sick and Weake in Body but of Perfect
Mind & Memory
thanks be given to God for the same do make and Ordain this my last Will
and Testament that is to say First of all I Give and Recommend my Soul
into the hands of Almighty God and for my Body I recommend it to the
Earth to be buried in a Christianlike and Decent Manner at the
Discretion of my Exec. hereafter named nothing Doubting but at the
General resurrection I shall receive the same by the Mighty Power of God
as touching my Worldly Goods as it hath pleased God to help me in this
life I Give Devise? and Dispose of the same in the following Manner and
Form Impeimis? I Give unto Jane my Wife Two Pounds a Year to be paid out
of Carncreas to be paid her at anytime whenever the said Jane do want it
or call for it if it is every Month and the Bedd and Bedding whereon I
lye a Croak and other small things if she go to her one Hand. Itim I
Give unto my Daughter Sarah the Wife of Peter Spargo a Field out of
Carnmoor called by the name of Parkinvorn with a Garden town place and
Commons thereunto belonging in paying to John Reed her Brother fife
Shillings a Year towards the High Reut & Rates and to Enjoy it during
the Lease. Itim I Give unto my Daughter Jane the Wife of Thomas Dunston
a field and a Rockey Quillot about Two Acres and halfe of Ground out of
Carncreas with Commons thereunto belonging in paying to her Brother John
Reed two Shillings and Sixpence a Year toards the High Reut and Rates
the field is called the Greenclose and the Quelot above it booth vining
with the Commons and to have it in Porveshon? six Months after my Burial
and to Enjoy it during the Lease and Sarah is to have her Field Six
Months after my Burial Itim I Give unto John Reed my Son whom I do make
and Ordain my only and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament
all my Goods and Chattells moveable and immovable and Estates or any
other thing or things what sum over that is or may be belonging to me
the said William Reed now or hereafter by him freely to be Posesed? and
Enjoyed and I do hereby Utterly Disallow Revoke Disannull? all every
other former Testaments Wills and Lega?yes? bequests & Executors by me
in anywise named Ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my
last Will & Testament in Witness whereof I have hereunto Sett my hand
and Seal this Twelfth Day of June 1746.

The above written Will was Proved in Common Form the 4th Sept. 1747
Before the Rev’d Mr. Wm. Waddon Clerk & Mr. of Arts ??ial? etc. And
Admion of the Goods etc. of the Deced was Granted to the Executor named
in this Will/ being first sworn etc. / having? etc.
The before written Will is a True Coppy Examined and Compared with the
Original this 5th Day of Sept. 1747 by us
